I was looking around on a few forums I frequent and came across this little gem. This is quite possibly the wave of the future...
Most of us are aware of the two most common kind of internal combustion engines. We have the two-stroke engine and also the four-stroke engine. Well its not quite like that, since Ilmor Engineering has designed the first five-stroke engine which promises to deliver such a fuel economy as an existing diesel engine can achieve. The good part of the story that no high emissions are produced. And what about performance, you might ask. Ilmor Engineering design promises a 700cc three-cylinder engine that produces 130hp and 122 pound-feet of torque and a potential achievement of 150hp per liter displacement.
